  • Will QNC compatibles work in my system?

    Yes. We are confident that our compatibles will provide you exactly what you would expect from an OEM optic. In addition, we offer our "Eval Units" to our clients whom would like to be able to test in the field. Engineers are able to test for 30 days at no charge in their production setting.

  • Can QNC provide optics for Government Entities?

    Most federal contracts require OEM parts, but if there is an opening for compatibles based on price or availability, we have the ability to build optics using TAA compliant materials.

  • How does QNC guarantee Quality Control?

    QNC compatibles are programmed specifically for the needs of each client. Programming is done in-house; therefore, we are able to maintain quality control issues as coding is verified prior to shipping.

  • How quickly will I get my order?

    At QNC we promise fast and reliable shipping to help your business succeed. All orders are put into production the day the order is placed. In most cases your orders are processed and shipped the same day. Although rare, some orders may take 3 to 4 business days before being shipped. Our customers enjoy complimentary ground shipping (within the continental United States) to help you save money! Additionally, we offer fantastic specials on your expedited shipping requirements. Our relationships, via our logistics management team, allow us to offer large discounts on products that you might need faster than ground shipping will provide.

    NOTE: As part of our commitment to your success, we prefer to have large quantity orders built out specifically to the needs of our customers, and typically ship within 8-10 business days. Quantities of this type would more than likely also qualify for a negotiated discount. Please be sure to inquire.

  • How can I view/track my order?

    As soon as the product is shipped, an email containing your invoice is sent. The invoice will include the tracking information to help you follow your product all the way to its destination. If additional updates are desired, feel free to contact your sales representative for additional information. We are here to help!

We work diligently to provide a cost savings benefit that can't be matched by other industry competitors. Our benefit to you is designed around repeat business. We offer special programs and promotions to keep our partners satisfied and we will constantly work to provide you with the best price possible.

    QNC offers cost savings. Many companies will base pricing on the brand name. QNC bases pricing on material costs. Customers pay for the optic, not the programming - saving thousands of dollars. The overhead for an OEM is passed along in the pricing for original units. QNC is able to bypass all of the inflated costs and offer a much more cost-effective solution – essentially saving up to 65% of OEM branded parts.

  • What payment options does QNC provide?

  • What is QNC's commitment to your privacy?

    QNC understands our customer's information is confidential and we are committed to protecting it. The only private information we collect is what you provide to us during our discussions about partnerships, during the ordering process, or via email correspondence or mailed letter. This information may include your name, address, E-mail, telephone number, fax number, credit card number and expiration date (which is not retained by QNC unless requested by you). All of the information obtained by QNC is kept strictly in-house. We do not share any information pertaining to our partners with outside sources. Your information is used within QNC only as a way to track our performance in customer satisfaction.

    Our right to change the Privacy Policy:
    Quality Network Components reserves the right to amend its privacy policy or practices from time to time. Quality Network Components promises to post the most current version of our privacy policy online at our site. If policy changes affect our uses and disclosures of personal information that we have previously collected, we will notify you and, if appropriate, provide an opportunity to prevent us from applying the revised policy to such information.

  • Will a compatible optic perform the same as an OEM?

    Yes. QNC optics give engineers full visibility and functionality. Compatibles are programmed to the same specs as OEM optics. They perform exactly like that of an original piece in a production setting.

  • Does using compatibles really stretch IT budgets?

    Yes. The price of a compatible averages about 1/3 the cost of an OEM original piece. This is a considerable amount of savings, especially when clients are needing to purchase quantities.

  • What does the term "Compatible" mean vs "3rd Party" or "Refurbished"?

    Our New 100% Compatible Optic Transceivers are built to meet or exceed specifications of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). For our compatible optics, we use the highest quality lasers and construction most similar to that of the OEMs and then program the optics to the specific platform being used by our customer. Our products are fully tested prior to shipping to ensure full visibility and performance in your customers'platforms.

    3rd party products are products that are built to work in a system with components that will work similar to the OEM. No guarantees are offered on the quality of materials used to manufacture these items. Third party basically means they should work with no guarantees on performance.

    Refurbished products are products that have been in a production setting. When purchasing refurbished products you have no knowledge of the environmental conditions in which they were used, or the length of time they spent in production. Depending on the supplier, your warranty will vary from 1 month to 6 months- unlike our New 100% Compatible optics that carry a lifetime replacement warranty.

    The cost savings for New 100% Compatible Optics outweigh the risk and downside of third party and refurbished products with limited warranties and lack guarantee of performance. The pricing for Compatibles are typically less than most used or refurbished original products. Third party items may have a lower cost, but when you are looking at a quality Compatible product vs one that should work- and it's yours or your customer's network on the line- is a few dollars in savings worth it?

  • Why are compatibles slightly higher in price than 3rd party and refurbished optics?

    Keep in mind quality. 3rd party does not mean full function. It means it will probably work at a basic level. Clients should expect to be able to have their engineers have visibility and complete system capabilities. Compatibles are not as inexpensive as 3rd party, but they offer the client exactly what they would receive from OEM parts.

  • Can QNC offer compatibles for all OEMs?

    QNC has the capability of supplying our customers with 100% compatible optics with full visibility and functionality for most OEMs on the market. All optics are lab tested for verification before being shipped.

  • Does using QNC Compatibles Void my OEM Warranty?

    Short answer: No, an OEM cannot void your warranty for use of compatible components.

    Long answer: No. There are situations where a networking, storage, and computer system manufacturer may suggest or have it suggested to customers that if compatible or third-party products or upgrades are being used in the system manufacturer's hardware application, the warranty for that system would be voided. In actuality, no compatible or third-party product voids the original system warranty. Any provision that forces or coerces a consumer to purchase a manufacturer's own equipment or brand, whether the consumer didn't want to buy the product at all, or preferred to purchase the product elsewhere under different terms, is a violation of the Magnusson-Moss Act - www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/businesspersons-guide-federal-warranty-law#Magnuson-Moss. Whether this tactic is directed through the manufacturer, a distributor, or a reseller, it violates U.S. laws.

    We provide a lifetime replacement warranty. If the optic is not working properly due to QNC manufacturer defect, we replace it. The nature of our products does not affect production system warranties. If an OEM were to try to not cover a system due to use of our compatibles, the Magnusson-Moss Act would then take effect and the OEM could be liable to large fines for not covering their system. The OEM would have to prove that the failure of the system was due to use of the optic in order to void a warranty.
